The CRA board has decided to hold the 2003 annual conference in the San Luis Valley. The dates will be Wednesday, October 8, through Friday, October 10. We will holding the indoor portions of the conference at the Holiday Inn in Alamosa, where we held the 1994 annual conference. We will also offer field trips to the northern and southern parts of the valley. Please make you calendars now to hold these dates open. You will receive a mailing this summer that provides full details, including the program agenda, a registration form, and information about motel accommodations.

Citizen's Guide to Colorado Water Law

The Colorado Foundation for Water Education is pleased to announce the release of the Citizen's Guide to Colorado Water Law in March 2003. This 38-page full color booklet explores the basics of Colorado water law, how it has developed, and is applied today. Readers can learn more about surface and ground water allocation and regulation, understand concepts such as interstate compacts, or read about how a 'call' for water works. The guide is designed to be easy-to-read, yet comprehensive enough to serve as a valuable reference tool. Booklets may be ordered on-line at www.cfwe.org. Copies of the Citizen's Guide to Colorado Water Law are $7.00 each, or $5.00 each for orders of 10 or more. Shipping is additional.
